The concept of RAZI was conceived in 2007 during the 1st International Congress for Psychosomatics held at the University of Isfahan. RAZI is an organization that has been in existence since 2007. On April 7, 2009, the “Razi Society for Medicine and Psychotherapy” was hosted. It was officially registered at the Siegen district court under number 2943.

The primary objective was to promote scientific research and practical expertise in the field of mental health within a transcultural context. Additionally, numerous congresses and collaborative projects were conducted among various universities in Germany and Iran. RAZI provided support to many students pursuing their studies in Germany and facilitated numerous scientific projects and research studies carried out at various universities in both Germany and Iran.

Approximately 1200 years ago, diagnostic and therapeutic interventions were already conducted using a bio-psycho-socio-cultural approach. In the Persian-speaking region, the physician Abu Bakr Muhammad ibn Zakariya ar-Razi was known for this. Later, this approach was further pursued by Avicenna.

The goals are the coordination, exchange, and cooperation of scientific and therapeutic initiatives in the field of medicine and psychotherapy following a bio-psycho-socio-cultural approach. The organization and execution of regular congresses. Planning, promotion, and coordination of training and continuing education programs in medicine and psychotherapy. Dissemination of information about scientific research and reports, conferences, and lectures. Engagement in publishing activities related to medicine and psychotherapy.
